The next season of the HBO series Hard Knocks will follow the Cleveland Browns' attempt to win their first game since December 24, 2016, according to a report by Adam Schefter. Hard Knocks gives an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the training camp of a different NFL team each season.

A major storyline on the show will likely be the play of the number one overall draft pick, Baker Mayfield. He is coming off a Heisman Trophy-winning season with the Oklahoma Sooners but success in college does not always lead to immediate success in the NFL. If he wants to start on opening day he will have to impress the team in training camp and beat out Tyrod Taylor.

Head coach Hue Jackson will be under immense pressure to right the ship in Cleveland. Many speculated he would be fired after an abysmal 1-31 record over his two seasons as coach. The team has added some key players in the off-season including wide receiver Jarvis Landry, so it will be up to Jackson to put the pieces together and get the team moving in the right direction. If he can't start putting together a few wins, his days in Cleveland could be numbered.

The Browns have lost 17 straight games dating back to the 2016 season. They have not made the playoffs since 2002. They were one of six teams eligible to be featured on the show. Teams have the option to not be the subject of the show if they have a first-year head coach, have made the playoffs at least once in the last two seasons, or have been featured on Hard Knocks in the past 10 years.
